I recently visited at Kabir Restaurant, drawn by its reputation as a popular vegetarian spot known for North Indian dishes. As I walked in, the warm, family-friendly atmosphere immediately created a welcoming feeling. The background music was soothing—though it felt a bit repetitive after a while—and seating was cozy, if slightly cramped during busy times. For starters, I tried their much-talked-about Garlic Naan, and it was genuinely impressive—soft, fluffy, and deliciously seasoned, easily one of the best naans I've had in recent times. The main courses I ordered included their Cheese Butter Masala and the famous Baked Macaroni with Pineapple. Both dishes stood out; the Cheese Butter Masala was flavorful and creamy, and the Macaroni was perfectly baked with the right balance of sweetness and cheese. However, the meal was somewhat marred by inconsistency in some dishes. The Paneer Butter Masala felt bland and oily, and their Dal Makhani lacked the signature creaminess expected from such a classic dish. Additionally, on a previous takeaway order, the food was disappointingly stale, and packaging was inadequate, affecting the overall experience negatively. Service-wise, my dine-in experience was mixed. The staff was polite, but noticeably slow, even though the restaurant wasn't overly busy. Small things, like missing spoons, tissues, and salt, created unnecessary inconveniences, and we had to repeatedly ask for basics, including packing leftovers at the end. It seemed like the staff might have been understaffed or simply overwhelmed at the moment. Pricing felt slightly high, given the inconsistent food quality and average service. Some dishes justified their price, while others definitely felt overpriced relative to portion sizes and taste. Parking can be a hassle during peak hours, though valet parking was provided, which helped a bit. Overall, Kabir Restaurant is a decent spot if you're looking specifically for vegetarian North Indian dishes. If they improve service efficiency and maintain consistency in their food quality, it has great potential.
