“If I Could Give Zero Stars, I Would!” I honestly regret booking Kaboo Hostel. I paid for 4 nights, but the place was such a massive disappointment that I moved out after just one night — and of course, no refund. The cleanliness was awful, the maintenance was poor, and the ambience was completely dead. I understand it might be off-season, but backpacker hostels are known for their vibe — at least make an effort to keep that spirit alive. Here, it just felt dull, neglected, and lifeless. Even the food was bad — bland, cold, and forgettable. The whole place felt like no one cared anymore. If there was an option to give zero stars, I absolutely would. Save your money and find another place that actually lives up to the idea of a Goan hostel.

Kaabo Hostel & Café in Vagator is honestly one of the most disappointing stays I’ve ever come across. At first glance the property looks beautiful in pictures and even has the potential to be a great place but the reality is completely different. The place is so poorly managed that it ruins everything. The rooms were dirty and completely unkempt. The washrooms were unhygienic and smelly and the linens looked as though they hadn’t been washed in ages. For a place that advertises itself so well online, the actual condition was shocking. It felt like no one is paying attention to cleanliness or maintenance which should be the bare minimum in hospitality. The café experience made things even worse. We asked for food, they took the order and made us wait for 30 minutes only to casually inform us that there was no gas to cook. Later when we asked for beer, they offered us two options. Again after 30 minutes they came back and said both were unavailable because the stock was over. The level of unprofessionalism, lack of planning and sheer mismanagement was beyond frustrating. This property could genuinely have been a gem, it has the space, the location, and the aesthetic appeal but the way it is currently being handled makes it nothing short of a nightmare. It was so unbearable that we decided to check out immediately because staying any longer was simply not possible. To sum it up: beautiful property, but terribly mismanaged. Dirty rooms, unhygienic washrooms, false promises, and non-existent service. I would strongly advise anyone considering this place to think twice because it is nothing like the pictures online.
