Chef Pinkey’s mission is to re-introduce tribal food to the modern world. The forgotten concepts of the past come alive in her beautiful restaurant. The traditions and processes of the old world that make our dependence on processed food less is what is special about Kokantee. She and her all women staff’s efforts to popularise and educate people about our rich culture and food of the tribes is laudable. The food was exceptional and soul stirring. Delicate flavours, subtle aromas and strong culinary skills abound this eaterie which has a casual low seated vibe and a beautiful Al fresco to enjoy the weather and have a smoke. Simply the best regional cuisine in Itanagar. Do not leave without carrying or eating the bread rolls with cream. It will remind you of a past long forgotten.
