During my visit to Jaisalmer, one culinary experience that truly stood out was my meal at KB Café. In the midst of the golden desert landscape and the intense Rajasthan heat, this café offered not just food but a comforting and authentic taste of Marwari hospitality. I decided to try the Marwari thali, which turned out to be a delightful introduction to the region’s traditional flavors. The thali was generously laid out with a variety of dishes that beautifully represented the richness of Rajasthani cuisine. Each item had its own distinct taste, yet together they created a perfectly balanced meal. The spices were robust but not overwhelming, and the food had that unmistakable homemade quality that makes traditional cuisine so memorable. Of course, no visit to Rajasthan is complete without dal baati choorma, and the one served at KB Café did not disappoint. The baatis were perfectly baked, crisp on the outside and soft inside, soaking up the flavorful dal wonderfully. The choorma added the perfect touch of sweetness, bringing harmony to the plate. It was simple, hearty, and deeply satisfying. But what truly elevated the experience was the makhaniya lassi. In the scorching desert heat of Jaisalmer, this thick, creamy drink felt like a blessing. The food here might look a bit on the expensive side, but it is worth it. I visited with my friend and we had 'Dal Bati Churma' and 'Chhaas'. The food tasted great; they even provided extra Bati and Dal without charging anything for it. The atmosphere at the cafe was nice and peaceful. The staff was polite and cordial while interacting. The views from the cafe are also beautiful. You get an outside view of the Patwon ki Haweli and the Jaisalmer Fort. Overall very good experience at KB Café Jaisalmer. Would highly recommend.
