Kavis Cafe, Perumbavoor had a fantastic start — the food and overall experience were excellent in the beginning. Recently, however, the taste seems to have dropped slightly and needs some improvement to match their earlier standards. On the positive side, the expansion has been done very well. The place is now more spacious, comfortable, and they have ample parking, which is a big advantage in this area. One important concern: a broken table corner (as seen during my visit) needs to be fixed immediately for customer safety. With a little attention to food quality and maintenance, Kavis Cafe can easily regain its top spot. I had a cheese dosa which was basically a thin crust pizza with potato dosa topping for breakfast and it was ah-may-ZING! Note: you can order a plain or other dosa with NO OIL (which we didn’t know before ordering so my wife was patting down hers with napkins). Idly, banana fritters also good. Wide menu - I had wanted to try the beetroot garlic dosa but it wasn’t available, and the lime juice was gonna take a little while so we passed on that. Perfect spot to stop for breakfast on way to Munnar!!! Big parking lot as well!! “One of the best teas you can find while travelling from Kottayam to Thrissur.” The tea here is exceptionally delightful—rich taste, well-balanced, and made with good-quality milk (even though no standard milk brand is used). That didn’t take away from the experience at all. They offer multiple Dosa varieties; I couldn’t try all of them, but the evening crowd clearly says a lot about the taste and popularity. A thoughtful touch is the hot water served on the table in a flask, and you’re free to take more if needed. “Simple place, great tea, and a very satisfying stop.” The café is usually crowded in the evenings, yet there is plenty of parking available, which is a big plus on this busy route. Overall, a great experience. Next visit, I’m definitely trying their dosa and idli.
