Nestled near Marine Drive in Churchgate, K. Rustom & Co. has been delighting Mumbaikars since 1953 with its signature ice cream sandwiches. This old-school Iranian parlour exudes nostalgia, offering a unique dessert experience that stands the test of time. The Experience Stepping into K. Rustom’s feels like a journey back in time. The no-frills setup, with its vintage charm, focuses solely on delivering delightful ice cream treats. The star attraction? Thick slabs of creamy ice cream nestled between crispy wafer biscuits, all wrapped in butter paper—a simple yet ingenious creation that has become synonymous with the brand. Must-Try Flavours • Walnut Crunch: A delightful mix of creamy ice cream with crunchy walnut bits. • Kesar Pista: Rich saffron-infused ice cream studded with pistachios. • Sitaphal (Custard Apple): A seasonal favorite that’s both refreshing and indulgent. • Paan: Captures the essence of the traditional Indian betel leaf preparation in a frozen form. • Rose: Delicate and aromatic, offering a floral twist to your dessert. With a plethora of flavors, from the classic to the adventurous, there’s something to satisfy every palate. Tips for Visitors • Carry Cash: The parlour operates on a cash-only basis. • No Seating: Be prepared to enjoy your treat standing or take a leisurely stroll along Marine Drive. • Peak Hours: It can get crowded, especially in the evenings, so plan accordingly. • Takeaway Options: They offer family-sized bars packed in insulated cases—perfect for sharing or gifting. K. Rustom Ice cream is one of the oldest ice cream parlors of Mumbai and as they say old is gold, they serve some of the best ice creams. This is in place since generations and the legacy is passed on. The ambience is nothing fancy, they need to improvise it. What will bring you here is the flavour. A bar of ice-cream is sandwiched between wafers biscuit and served. They offer some amazing flavours such as Paan, Rum & Raisins, Peppermint, etc. The ice creams packed with flavour and you will definitely crave for some more. The service is pretty good and they manage the crowd well during the rush hours. They also serve seasonal fruit flavours which you must try. You can also sip on the Mango Lassi which is famous during the season. K. Rustom with its delicious and inexpensive icy dessert is a place you should visit someday if you’re around.
