I tried Black Pepper Exotica which is basically stir fried veggies in black pepper sauce and it was really good? I ordered Virgin Pina Colada which had a sweet coconuty taste and i didn't like it much..
Service was okayish.. As the waiter didn't exactly understand what we were trying to ask and ended up giving vague answers...
My hunting grounds extend from Powai to Ghatkopar, and there's no better place to go to if one wants decent drinks and food, along with a quasi-hip ambiance. But there ARE a few tiny glitches in the place's online PR.
First, I notice a lot of people on Zomato insist Jughead's drinks are cheap. Let me set the record straight for young folks and mid-level professionals. Jughead's alcohol is not cheap. But it is more affordable than most places that aren't local hole-in-the-wall "restaurant and bar" types. If you're just looking to drink cheap with your buddies and have some food to keep yourself upright, go to Sunny's in Powai market with my blessing. If you want to be cool, thought, come to Jughead's.
Jughead's will also offer you the sort of food you won't get in local bars. The Creole calamari is not as spicy as "Creole" would lead one to expect, but is nonetheless very good. The chicken wings ARE spicy, and have an interesting sour tang. The lamb chili is rather good too. The enchiladas, on the other hand, are best avoided. The "guacamole" that came with them turned out to be hung curd blended with mint and dhania leaves, so perhaps you'd do well to leave the Mexican offerings alone. Just go for the proteins - they're pretty good.
The bar is prompt, and although the cocktails could be stronger, making weak cocktails are just part of business practices. If you want to get nicely buzzed on a budget, go for the beer and whiskey/vodka/rum/gin.
THE POINT DOCKING:
The reason I docked half point from Jughead's is this: you're a restaurant for adults, and not a small cheap one. Please don't serve your patrons on old melamine dishes and chipped glasses. And increase your serving sizes a little. It doesn't make a good impression on paying customers when your presentation looks like the cook has ladled two ladles of something on a plastic plate, and then crammed a few wilted cucumbers as an afterthought.
I am sure most of your patrons don't care about these details, because they come to your establishment to drink and hang out. However, if you address them, I'll bet you see all of them noticing and appreciating the change. I certainly will.
