We went to Iyer Mess today for lunch, and it wasn’t a good experience. We had to wait for around 10-15 minutes before we could sit down. They served the food on a banana leaf. I was really surprised by how bad the food was, especially for the price.The meal cost ₹120, but the food was not worth it. We got one chapati and a little rice. It’s not about the quantity, but the quality was really bad. The rice had too much soda in it, and it made me feel heavy and bloated. I even got acidity after eating.The sambar, which should have had the proper Iyer taste, was completely off. We’ve eaten Iyer food at many weddings and other places, but this sambar didn’t taste right at all. The vegetable side dishes were okay, and the rasam tasted like plain water with some flavoring.For an old restaurant like this, charging ₹120 for such bad food is shocking. I expected much better, but it was really disappointing.
