“Pathetic Experience – Avoid This Hotel!” The worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The rooms are extremely unhygienic, dirty, and stuck in an outdated setup. Housekeeping is non-existent. To make matters worse, I saw rats roaming freely in their kitchen as if they were pets — a clear health hazard! The owner is very shrewd and avoids addressing any complaints. Completely unacceptable standards. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Stay away!
My recent stay at Ivy Hotel & Restaurant in Talwara was a mixed experience, with several positive aspects balanced by a few areas that need improvement. Here is a detailed account: Positive Aspects: 1. Serene Environment: One of the standout features of Ivy Hotel is its peaceful and calming environment. Located in a somewhat secluded area, it provides a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The tranquil surroundings make it an ideal place for anyone looking to unwind and relax. 2. Scenic Canal View (Room 231): The view from Room 231 was simply amazing. Overlooking a flowing canal, the sound of the water added to the overall serene atmosphere. The view provided a refreshing backdrop, especially during early mornings and late evenings, making the stay even more enjoyable. 3. Delicious and Affordable Food: The food at Ivy Hotel was impressive, offering great taste at very reasonable prices. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, each meal was delicious and well-prepared. The variety and quality of the food made dining at the hotel a pleasant experience, contributing significantly to the overall comfort of the stay. 4. Peaceful Location: Though the hotel is located quite inside and away from the main areas of Talwara, this distance contributes to the calm and peaceful atmosphere. It's perfect for those looking to escape the noise of city life. The isolation offers a sense of privacy that is hard to find in busier locations. Areas for Improvement: 1. Cleanliness Issues: The biggest downside to my stay was the lack of proper cleanliness, particularly concerning the bed sheets and pillows. There was a noticeable smell coming from the room, which made the stay less comfortable. While the hotel offers great food and ambiance, the basic hygiene of the room was not up to standard. This is an area that needs immediate attention from the management. 2. Room Smell: Along with the cleanliness of the bedding, there was a slight musty odor in the room, which detracted from the overall experience. A thorough cleaning and proper ventilation system or room fresheners could go a long way in improving the indoor environment for future guests. Despite the issues with room cleanliness, Ivy Hotel & Restaurant remains one of the best places to stay in Talwara, especially for those seeking peace and quiet. The scenic views, affordable and delicious food, and overall calm atmosphere make it a great choice for a getaway. However, to elevate the guest experience further, it is crucial that the hotel focuses on improving the cleanliness of rooms, particularly bedding and linens. If the management addresses these minor issues, this hotel has the potential to become a top choice for visitors to the area.
