(5/5) India Gate Restaurant & Bakes has quickly become one of my favourite dining spots — and after multiple visits, it’s easy to see why. The food here hits the right balance of flavour, variety, and consistency, and every meal feels like a little culinary treat. What stands out most for me personally is the Prawn Schezwan Dry — it’s hands down one of the best versions I’ve tasted around town. The prawns are juicy, cooked just right, and the spicy-savoury Schezwan coating is punchy without overpowering the seafood. It’s often the first thing I order, and it never disappoints. We also tried the Beef Biriyani, and it was genuinely delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked — aromatic, fluffy, and well-spiced — and the chunks of beef were tender and full of flavour. This isn’t just “good biriyani”; it’s the kind you remember. The Veg Meals were satisfying too — balanced, traditional, and comforting. You can tell the kitchen takes care with every element, from the dal to the veggies and accompaniments. It’s wholesome, well-portioned, and excellent value for the variety you get. Two other highlights you must try are the Beef Dry and Beef Roast. Both are beautifully spiced and cooked to perfection — bold flavours, tender meat, and just the right heat. These dishes have become staples in our orders because they deliver every time. Service here is friendly and attentive. The staff are welcoming without being overbearing, and the pace of service feels relaxed yet efficient. The ambience of the restaurant is warm and comfortable — perfect for everything from casual lunches to longer dinners with friends or family. If I had to suggest one little improvement, it would be to expand dessert options on the menu, just to round out a perfect meal even more. But honestly, even without that, everything else here more than makes up for it. Overall, India Gate Restaurant & Bakes offers consistently great food, warm service, and honest value for money. Whether you’re a seafood lover, a biriyani fan, or just in search of reliable comfort food, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommended!
