I recently attended a business meeting at a charming, slightly rustic resort on the ECR. The property is a little aged, but its beachfront location and fresh sea breeze give it a wonderfully calm atmosphere.We had lunch buffet and were pleasantly surprised-the spread exceeded our expectations. Highlights included a fragrant chicken biryani reminiscent of the classic Chennai"Bai style briyani", a richly flavored mutton gravy, and perfectly crisp fish fry. Every dish was well seasoned and truly delicious. Both my colleagues and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.Ratings:* Ambience: 4/5* Food: 4/5• Overall (value for price, compared to nearby resorts): 4/5

Fantastic Sri Lankan food. We had Sri Lankan Rice with Curry Meal. All the items were excellent.

Ideal Garden restaurant in the Ideal Beach Resort in Mahabalipuram is a picturesque one. Ambience is ideal for any party or a get-together. Been to this place twice. Once we stayed here and happen to taste their breakfast buffet. Recently we went there for a birthday party. This time we had their dinner buffet.

They have a decent spread of menu consisting of south Indian, Chinese, continental, and north Indian cuisine. Both breakfast and dinner, the final verdict is that of mixed. Most of their south indian items were good. But when it comes to the other cuisines, it was average to below average. The apple keer they had for dessert was yummy. But for the money they charge, the food that they offer is below par both in terms of taste and variety.
