I recently visited "Hotel Saisagar" in Kolhapur for dinner and had the chance to try two of their popular thalis the "Chicken (Wada) Thali" and the Chicken Roast Thali." The "Chicken (Wada) Thali" was definitely the highlight of the meal. The chicken was cooked to perfection, tender and well-marinated, served in a flavorful masala that was rich and aromatic. What really elevated the experience was their "Konkani Wada" – crispy on the outside, soft inside, and incredibly satisfying when paired with the spicy chicken curry. The accompanying "Tambda Rassa" and "Pandhara Rassa" were both impressive – bold in flavor, well-balanced in spice, and true to the Kolhapuri style. In contrast, the "Chicken Roast Thali" didn’t quite hit the mark. The chicken itself was decent, but the overall taste felt average. The use of curd in the preparation gave it a sourness that overpowered the other flavors, making it less enjoyable compared to the Wada Thali. The ambience of the restaurant is moderate – nothing too fancy, but clean and comfortable enough for a casual meal. One thing worth appreciating is their quick service – the food arrived promptly, and the staff was polite and efficient. Overall, Hotel Saisagar is a good spot if you're craving authentic Kolhapuri thalis, especially the Chicken Wada Thali. I’d recommend it for the taste and prompt service. And one more thing they offer a ample of parking space, So no need to worry about your vehicle. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
