A Mixed Experience at Hotel Vijay I recently had both breakfast and dinner at Hotel Vijay, and unfortunately, it was a somewhat inconsistent experience. While some aspects were enjoyable, others left much to be desired. For dinner, I opted for the mushroom biriyani. Sadly, this dish was a letdown and didn't meet my expectations in terms of flavor and preparation. On a more positive note, the masala dosai I had for breakfast was quite tasty. However, it contained large, unevenly cut chunks of potato, which was a bit off-putting. The idli, also for breakfast, was a definite highlight – light, fluffy, and very good. Beyond the food, there were a couple of other issues that impacted my experience. The cleanliness of the wash area was subpar, which is always a concern. Additionally, I felt my privacy was compromised by one of the staff members who seemed to linger and observe our table a little too closely. Finally, I found the prices to be on the higher side considering the overall quality and experience. In summary: Hotel Vijay offers some decent South Indian breakfast items like idli and dosai, but the biriyani was disappointing. Improvements are needed in terms of cleanliness and staff attentiveness, and the pricing could be more competitive. I would recommend this restaurant with reservations, perhaps focusing on their breakfast offerings while being aware of the potential downsides.
