Review: Uday Bhavan, Belgaum – A South Indian Delight in the Heart of the City If you’re in Belgaum and looking for an authentic South Indian breakfast experience that hits the spot every single time, Uday Bhavan should be your go-to place. This modest yet bustling eatery has built a reputation for serving consistently delicious fare, and its loyal customer base is a testament to its quality, taste, and affordability. The star of the menu at Uday Bhavan is undeniably the Idli. Soft, fluffy, and perfectly steamed, their idlis melt in the mouth and set the gold standard for what good idlis should taste like. Served with fresh, mildly spiced coconut chutney and a piping hot bowl of sambhar, the combination is soul-satisfying. What elevates the experience further is the homely touch – the flavors remind you of a traditional South Indian kitchen, where attention to detail and freshness take priority. Alongside idli, the medu vada here deserves equal applause. Crispy on the outside, yet soft and airy inside, the vadas are fried to perfection. Whether dipped in chutney or soaked in sambhar, every bite has a satisfying crunch and a comforting flavor that complements the breakfast plate beautifully. The dosa, upma, and kesari bath are also well-loved among regulars, and though idli steals the show, these items maintain Uday Bhavan’s reputation for quality. The taste here is not overtly spicy or oily – it strikes the perfect balance, making it suitable for all age groups, from children to the elderly. Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Uday Bhavan is simple and unpretentious. The seating area is basic, clean, and well-maintained. It’s not a fancy place, but what it lacks in décor, it more than makes up for in taste and service. The staff is polite and efficient, ensuring that even during peak morning hours, the crowd is managed well and service is quick. One of the great things about Uday Bhavan is its affordability. You get a hearty, wholesome breakfast without putting a dent in your wallet. It’s a place frequented not just by locals, but also by travelers and food lovers who hear of its reputation through word of mouth. There’s often a wait during the rush hours, especially on weekends, but the turnover is fast, and the food is absolutely worth it. The location is another plus – centrally placed, easily accessible by road, and close to various key areas of Belgaum. There is usually enough parking available nearby for two-wheelers, though four-wheelers may have to look around a bit during busy hours. Final Verdict: Uday Bhavan is a celebration of traditional South Indian breakfast, made with love and consistency. It may not be luxurious or Instagram-worthy in its décor, but it certainly satisfies your taste buds in a way that leaves a lasting impression. If you’re a fan of idli-vada or simply want to start your day with a fulfilling meal, this place should not be missed. Rating: 4.7/5 Must-Try: Idli, Vada, and Dosa Good For: Breakfast, quick meals, family visits, and solo morning rituals ⸻ Service: 4

Great breakfast, staff is pretty fast and hospitality is really amazing. Idli and he wada were extremely fresh and fluffy like homemade , food didn't feel bloaty and soothing, Many types of Dosa also available and the Misal is tasty . Consider all the food options and taste everything as each and every item is tasty and must try. Service: 5
