Went there few years ago, when the manager used to come from Ashoknagar. Parking available at the taxi stand, the rooms at the back side is decent, yet not luxurious. Bengali food available from the in house kitchen. Service: 5

The most third class hotel I have stayed in my life. Please try to avoid this hotel if you want to enjoy your Gangtok tour.

When we travel for a vacation, we always look for a home away from home. Last week I have spent around four to five days in Gangtok with my family and stayed at Hotel Sonali International. This has been my second vacation to Gangtok that initially began in 2006. This time around I have found a few differences from my initial stay there. I strongly feel that this hotel needs a makeover but at the same time keeping its ground essence intact. By makeover I mean the interiors and the accessories. Some will say that its a bit far from the Mall, but the scenic view of the Annapurna Range from the hotel window is devine during a clear day. There may be a certain flaws regarding the aspects of the hotel, but to my knowledge, lately there has been a change in the proprietorship of the hotel and it has happened for the good . I have clearly felt positive differences . But most importantly, the quality of the food offered by the hotel is extremely tasty and the staffs behaviour is descent and cooperative as well. Everyone deserve a second chance in their life. So be it in case of this hotel. So keeping the pros and cons in my mind, I rate Hotel Sonali International 4 out of 5; and wish them a happy new beginning. Service: 5
