An Absolutely Perfect Konkani Meal! The Best Kingfish Thali in Rajapur. I had the Kingfish Thali at Hotel Saraswati and it was an absolutely outstanding 5-star experience from start to finish. This is authentic Konkani food at its finest! The star of the show, the fried Kingfish (Surmai), was a huge, generous steak, fried to absolute perfection. The outside was incredibly crispy and flavorful with a delicious masala, while the fish inside was tender, flaky, and exceptionally fresh. But the thali is more than just the fish. Every single element on the plate was a winner:. The Fish Curry: A rich, flavorful curry with a beautiful piece of fish, soaking up all the delicious gravy. The Tambda Rassa: That vibrant orange curry was the perfect spicy and tangy accompaniment. Solkadhi: The pale pink solkadhi was cool, refreshing, and the perfect digestive to balance the spices. Accompaniments: The soft chapati and fluffy steamed rice were perfect for mopping up every last drop of the delicious curries. It was a hearty, incredibly satisfying, and complete meal that felt both high-quality and wonderfully traditional.
