Compared to what I had here last year, what I had recently is quite tasteless no matter if it is idly or chutney. Not much of a service either. Of course one should not expect anything from a restaurant inside the bus stand. But considering the high costs of this hotel (such as 18 rs per idly) you would think it has some taste only to not have any taste. Ofcourse care is good, tasty food and excellent service to what I pay for. We had chance to visit and taste breakfast here during our recent trip around. Hotel Merina beats all my expectations beyond what I would expect from a normal South Indian vegetarian restaurant. The restaurant is neat and well maintained with nice pleasant ambience. The quality and taste of the food is top class and excellent. You order your food and it is served on your table in no time. They have a long menu and you are spoilt of choices and all of them are available when you order. There is no parking place as it's situated inside Mattuthavani bus stand. This place is highly recommended for great food and service. Must visit in case of taking bus and traveling through this bus stand for vegetarian recipes! An one of my favourite in the hotel ( கருப்பட்டி காபி ) BLACKBERRY COFFEE I love it just 25Rs..
