Our review : 4.5 / 5
From old-timers and local college students and pretty much anyone who has ever visited Sion, or lives around Sion-Matunga-Dadar knows what Guru Kripa is, and the precious place it holds in the hearts of Mumbaikars. For more than 41 years, Gurukripa has been dishing out tangy Pani Puris, Dahi Papdi, Samosas and more. Over the years, its popularity has soared, so don’t be surprised to find it crowded most of the time. The restaurant is perpetually flooded with hungry eaters and you have to first get a coupon before you buy anything. Our Host Jeetu ensured that we have a wonderful experience while we sailed through our gastronomical adventure of 10 Assorted Pani Puris and Dahi Puris which by the way were mind-blowing. The “tikki” was an in-between of sorts between a Mumbai patipatienced a Delhi tikki. It was served with the trademark chhole(chickpea curry) and the two chutneys, making it an epic mix. Ended our journey with crunchy, spicy, potato-filled SAMOSA..one bite of these tasty samosas and you will know you haven’t had a better one anywhere in Mumbai. Guru Kripa also has South Indian dishes on its menu,bt is most popular for its North Indian and Sindhi items. Bollywood legend Raj Kapoor and Romance king Dilip Kumar iarkarewn to have been a regular at this eatery.
