Having seen Vypeen Island, it's time to have a rest at this restaurant. Try dishes of Indian cuisine at Hotel City Light. Degust good beef curry, chicken biryani and roast beef this place offers. Drink the great tea offered here.

When one comes to Fort Kochi, or Kerala in general, one can eat either in a touristy food place (where locals don't frequent), or eat in a local food place (where tourists don't frequent). Hotel City Light is a local food shop. Located along TM Muhammad Road. You won't miss it, there is a large sign board in front of the shop. This is a budget food place serving good, humble, honest local food, and is frequented by mostly locals, workers, auto drivers and is usually quite busy. Which means the food is good and well priced. They open from about 6am in the morning (serving light food), lunch (serving Kerala meals/rice), and dinner (rice and Briyani). Opens through out the day, and closes just before mid night. When coming for lunch, just order the Kerala rice meals, and you can add one additional condiments such as fried fish or beef. And you will be pleasantly surprised by the cost of the meal. Staff is friendly and helpful although English can be a challenge for them.
