In June, I visited Hotel Chitra Pure Vegetarian Restaurant within Vivekananda Kendra in Kanyakumari for both lunch and dinner, finding it to be a truly memorable experience. For lunch, the traditional thali was hearty and satisfying, featuring an assortment of South Indian flavors that felt comforting and nourishing. Later in the evening, we returned for dinner and tried a delicious spread of roti, paneer curry, and Manchurian, which brought a delightful mix of flavors to the table. The restaurant also offered fresh juices and ice creams, providing a refreshing end to each meal. The surroundings at the Kendra made the experience even more enjoyable, with open skies and lush greenery, creating a calming atmosphere perfect for a peaceful walk after the meal. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the day. That day, Prime Minister Modi was also nearby for meditation at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, and a few of his party members, bodyguards, and police staff were having lunch here. The restaurant was bustling with a diverse crowd, yet it remained organized and welcoming, catering to everyone with the same warmth. Overall, it was a wonderful experience blending good food, serene surroundings, and a sense of community.
