Hopscotch in Coonoor is the only pub in the Nilgiris and it's a great place to visit when in the area. The ambience is perfect and the scenery and view is amazing. The entrance may be a bit shady but the inside is spacious and cozy. The menu offers world cuisine and the liquor collection is good. The starters presentation is innovative and the food is delicious. Do try their LIIT, wings, chicken sausage wrapped in bacon and wood fired pizzas. Live music is played on most weekends and they also have DJ nights and Bollywood nights. The staff is friendly and helpful and the manager is quick to accept shortcomings. Prices are in the higher side but it's worth it for a one time visit. Beware of the monkeys near the entrance. The only drawback is that they shut the place way too early. Overall, Hopscotch is a great place for an outing or time out with friends.

So we had been eyeing the “Woodfired Pizza” outlet since our arrival day in Coonoor. We went for it and my only direction was that I wanted to have my life’s best pizza. The guy, Sheikh, not only understood our need (Veg loaded pizza) but delivered beyond our expectation. As we were waiting right in front of the outlet, breathing in the calm and still night, Sheikh and Bisbas poured their hearts in to making the pizza. I watched them properly wash the vegetables, carefully stretch the dough, add extra cheese (as we requested him to) and carefully insert it in the hearth (woodfired stove, duh!) with the only intent to do their best. And Voila!! It did come out perfect. Everyone who had a slice of it praised it and just couldn’t have enough of it. Had a really wonderful experience at Hopscotch and their subsidiary Woodfired Pizza. Thank you so much guys!!!! Specially Sheikh :) Ps: The pictures are not doing justice to the delight that pizza was to our gustatory senses!!!
