Having seen Dash N Splash, it's time to have a rest at Hip Asia - Vivanta by Taj Connemara. You will be served Japanese and Malaysian cuisines at this place. It's time to relax and try tasty fried prawns, fried fish and spicy soup. People may have good curry dessert at this spot.

Ambience and location :
Everyone in Egmore knows Taj Connemara. Hip Asia is a pretty small hall like restaurant. The ambience was quite soothing. The place was empty and the music made it even more pleasant.
Food :
We decided to order their veg and non veg set menu. And this is what I ate from their VEG set menu :
1. Kimchi : kimchi is a salad made of different vegetables like radish,cabbage with different sauces and seasonings. It was light but since it's an acquired taste, i liked it while my friend didn't.
2. Soup -Veg soup was what i got and I didn't like the flavours that much. It was very filling and I couldn't have more than two-three spoons.
3. Starters - Crispy fried veg : I loved this dish and it was way better than the chicken starter which my friend had ( his words).The chilli garlic added just the right amount of flavour and I LOVED it.
4. Main course : Yasai Tappan is a dish made by mixing soy sauce along with grilled broccoli,cucumber etc. The soy sauce flavour was personally not good and I struggled to finish it. I had ginger fried rice as well and that tasted average.
5. Desserts - desserts were a let down since i expected a lot from Hip Asia. We had a brownie and that tasted really OK. We had another dessert ( sorry, i am unable to recollect the name) which tasted average as well.
Overall, if you LOVE asian flavours, you can try once.

TAJ and the expectation rises everytime we hear the name! doesn it? i did have so much of expectations and may be tats y this place din make me happy with its food!
ofcoz, one cannot complain abt the service nor the ambiance. But then the main thing, food! wasn quite impressing! with a theme along, ofocz there cannot be much of choices on the menu but we made sure we tasted across the menu ordering one from every cuisine!
Agedashi tofu from Japanese, Poh pia je from malaysian were the best here! the items were'n upto the "taj" though! they can improve!
but i would recommend this place for their service and ambiance
