Wowww this restaurant looking so beautiful ndd food is so delicious pocket friendly staff behaviour is so nice The restaurant has a nice decor, typical but with an aesthetic sense, foods are yummy, mouth watering and nicely served. All dishes are typically bengal cuisine having a touch of East bengal. Service is excellent. A must place to dine. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹800–1,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Don't come by car, as there's no parking available. Try to avoid weekends. Due to poor management, you'll have to wait a long time to get a table, even if you've registered. The food looks good in reels but doesn't taste in reality. Prices are quite high for the quality and quantity provided. They recommend the Pata Pora Ilish, but it's quite pungent and may not suit everyone's taste. Overall, good luck—you’ll need it. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹1,800–2,000 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Vegetarian offerings: Not sure

What happens if you order food at a restaurant and it's running an hour late to serve your order - you almost certainly complain about this and they try to make it work. Not here at 'Himur Heshel'; the staffs might behave as per the situation, but the Owner, Ms Sutapa Barua (aka 'Himu') would in an instant start shouting malignantly on you and misbehave (in our case it didn't matter whether it was a senior citizen talking to her). We didn't have an inkling of what was about to happen, and visited the restaurant couple of weeks back for a Sunday lunch. The place was easy to reach, and parking spot was easy to find. There was a huge que for lunch, and that's the norm on weekends. After waiting for an hour, we finally got the table. The decor was quite nice - colorful & vibrant. But that's where the good things end. We, after waiting an hour and being ill-treated, brought the food ordered back to home, with of course a packaging charge. We managed to have the starter 'Chicken Jali Kabab' there, which was quite ordinary in taste, and 'Gondhoraj Ghol' that was fine, but it's actually a roadside 30 Rs lassi with Gondhoraj lemon flavor.
For the rest of the menu that we ate at home - 'Ilish er Lej-er Bhorta' was quite sour and smelly, either it's how it's made, or it had gone bad. 'Potol chingri' was too oily, lacked any taste. 'Ilish paturi kumropataay mora' was quite substandard; even local eateries make Ilish better. 'Dhakai Chicken Tehari' was actually a chicken biryani, but even 75-100 Rs roadside alternatives tastes much much better. 'Chittagaon style mutton kala bhuna' was okay, nothing great. However, the prices on the menu would give the elite bengali restaurants of the city a competition.
In our opinion, the concept of fiddling with 'opaar banglar' nostalgia, along with brilliant marketing, and promotion by celebs has given the restaurant it's edge. However, fiddling with customer's modesty coupled with below-average taste at a ceiling high rate would certainly cause its unpopularity, if not taken utmost care.
