If you want to experience chaos disguised as dining, Ganesh Mess is the place. The name fits perfectly it is a mess in every sense. There is no system for seating; customers who wait patiently are ignored while others walk in and grab tables. The tables themselves are dirty, plates and banana leaves uncleansed, setting the tone for what follows. When dosas were served, sambhar was missing. On asking, the serving container was dumped on the table without bowls. Halfway through my meal, when I looked for help, the waiter rudely questioned me instead of assisting. Bowls eventually arrived but without spoons. And when I asked for spoons, the waiter dismissively said I’d have to wait an hour due to the rush. Only when I raised my voice did the owner step in and provide spoons within seconds, proving the staff was simply harassing customers out of sheer negligence. The ordeal didn’t end there. At billing, the same waiter insisted the bill was at my table. On checking, it was wrong, we were being charged for items we never ordered. This is unacceptable. Customers are paying for food, not begging for charity. If the management cannot handle basic service, they should close temporarily and reorganize instead of mistreating people. Ganesh Mess is a textbook example of how not to run a restaurant: dirty tables, rude staff, disorganized seating, careless service, and incorrect billing.
