I’ve made the mistake of visiting Hamsa twice — first a few months ago and again on April 18, 2025. Both times were complete disasters. I returned only because of their plush interiors, thinking it might be a decent place to host a guest from Dubai. But if you’re even remotely serious about food or customer service — do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Let me break it down: • The staff recommended three items despite clear instructions that we were three people, wanted something light, not too spicy, and preferably South Indian. • One was Grilled Vazhaithandu — loaded with unnecessary masala, yet utterly bland and lifeless. • The other two were Idiyappam Biryani and Leaf-Enclosed Hamsa Rice — both basically the same type of biryani, completely redundant, flavorless, and uninspired. • The server barely listened, pushed the opposite of what we asked for, and kept trying to upsell North Indian food. Zero effort to understand our preferences. • And for this disaster? We paid ₹1,848 (Bill No. 56672) — an absolute waste of money. Attaching the bill everywhere I post this review so people know this isn’t just ranting — this place genuinely needs to be called out. Hamsa is all about shiny décor and zero about food or service. I’ll be warning everyone I know not to step into this place. Chennai has far better restaurants that care about their food and customers.
