This is the greatest place near Backyard. Indian and Vegetarian food will be what you are offered to taste at this restaurant. Nothing can be better than eating good paneer, cheese naans and kulcha. At Hamsa, order tasty gulab jamun, coconut ice cream and bread pudding. Delicious wine is worth trying here. Many reviewers highlight that you can have great iced coffee, tea or lassi at this place.

The friendly staff welcomes visitors all year round. The spectacular service is a great plus of this spot. Prices here are reported to be fair. There is a cozy atmosphere and cute decor at this restaurant. Hamsa is rated on Google 4.2 by its guests.

Visited Hotel Hamsa with a group of ~20 people, so we sampled most of the menu—making this a fairly complete experience. Thali: strictly average. Vegetables were almost missing (potato made a solo appearance). For the price, it felt sparse. Service & hospitality: uneven. Weekend reservations not being accepted is understandable, but the way it was communicated lacked warmth. As a gourmet diner, even a simple “we tried but couldn’t manage due to the crowd” would have been appreciated. The staff member taking orders wasn’t rude, but not welcoming either. On the brighter side, a gentleman—possibly the manager—was polite, receptive, and willing to correct things. Food highlights & misses: Kofta Brindavan: genuinely good. Gold-plated paneer: more hype than taste. Gongura annam: (please change your Ennam) didn’t live up to expectations. Idiyappam biryani: a let-down. Ironically, side dishes outperformed the main courses. Saffron pulao turned into a treasure hunt—mostly ghee aroma, saffron in hiding. Pumpkin sambar/soup (chef’s special) was disappointingly watery and didn’t feel “chef special” at all. Desserts — the real star Rose petals ice cream was lovely. Coffee & jaggery ice cream was unique and worth trying. A special mention to the fig halwa—something we enjoyed on an earlier visit and genuinely liked. Unfortunately, as the menu changes annually, it was out of syllabus this time. Interestingly, litchi payasam was also unavailable due to it not being litchi season—felt like the fig halwa could have easily stepped in as a worthy substitute.. Desserts are where Hamsa truly redeems itself. À la carte pricing felt on the higher side for the experience delivered. For the money paid, the value didn’t quite translate to the plate. Ambience & facilities:. The restroom needs attention. While the room freshener tried its best to save the situation, cleanliness once you step in was clearly lacking. Final takeaway:. Come for the desserts, settle for the side dishes, and brace yourself for an “oh kya?” reaction with most main courses. With better service polish, cleaner facilities, and more balanced mains, Hotel Hamsa could live up to its reputation. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Brunch
