I’m in love in this place. No belly pain after food, no garlic , no onion. Sattvic food indeed. Govindas cafe become a second home. I don’t like leaving this kind of reviews in India, as I know they are usually family businesses. But I also think it’s important to understand what is not working so it can be improved and attract more costumers. Firstly the price-quantity-quality. For the price you pay, you don’t get enough quantity nor quality. Ayurvedic food is not expensive, it’s supposed to be real, local and seasonal products. As it’s vegan food, the quantity should be bigger (plus in India the food portion is never an issue). And ayurvedic food as in my experience it’s always very tasty, and here it wasn’t. If someone new were to think this is Ayurvedic food, it’s not, I’ve eaten deliciously in many ashrams in India before. Coming back to the price, is definitely not justified. The ambience could be nicer as well. Also, there was a misunderstanding with the menu? It showed one price for chapati and they tried to charge me more? It’s not nice to scam foreigners and if you don’t know how to speak English it’s ok, but have everything clear on the menu: prices and details of the food. As a whole very bad experience with the food, place and communication with staff. I hope they take this the right way, and improve on it, because they could have so many costumers if things were done correctly.
