Come here for a meal right after visiting Goa State Museum. Indian cuisine is what this restaurant boasts. Cooks at Goan Fish Cafe do their best to provide visitors with tasty goan fish curry, grilled chicken and burgers. Good brownies can be eaten here. Delicious beer is the best drinks of this place. Goan Fish Cafe is located on the ground floor and easily accessible. We were here for weekday dinner and the only people at the Cafe.
The first thing that caught my eye was the stack of books while going up the stairs. What a way to allure people like me..!!
We headed directly to the upstairs seating which is dimly lit and nicely decorated with wallpaper of green foliage on one side. Other walls have many pictures showing the quirkiness of Goans and also some caricatures of sportsmen, etc. They also have a live karaoke (An important reason to visit again..)
I really loved the diverse menu that is being offered here. We were craving for some good Chicken Cafreal, so ordered Chicken Cafreal Burger and a Barbeque Jerk Chicken for the sound of its name. Both the dishes were great. Cafreal Burger was perfect and tasted just as we like. It was served along with some French Fries. Barbeque Jerk Chicken was sauteed in Barbeque Sauce and coated chicken very well. However, it would have been better if it had been boneless.
Further, we ordered Latino Chik Sizzler at the advice of the server and it turned out to be absolutely great. It came along with white penne pasta, french fries, chicken, and sauteed veggies. The quantity of each item in the sizzler was very good. The chicken steak was succulent and juicy while the pasta sauce was just amazing. We were super full by the end of it that had no space for desserts. Lovely experience.
