Had an awesome lunch today here.. Sambar, rasam, kootu and poriyal all wonderful... They also served puliyodharai... Very authentic and tasty food.. All the best.. Though the location on maps is incorrect.. It's located opposite to Fresh Millers / sri narayanan stores Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹1–200 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Menu is all vegetarian

This is one of the new Mess that has surfaced in the Nanganallur area. This is situated on the first floor of the complex. We may have to go through a narrow steps to acces this. This is a small place that can accommodate 10 people at a time. This mess follows a traditional way - Footwear to be removed outside while seating and also the plates / banana leaf to be disposed off by the customer. I had been to this mess on 19 Nov 2023 for breakfast. I had Idli / Vada. It was served with Thengai (Coconut) chutney, Kara (Onion / Tomato) Chutney and Sambar. The chutney tasted very good. I felt like a home cooked item. Vada was also very good (However it was slightly cold). Idly taste also was good. Harmless food any time. Also, took Dosa, Khichdi, Poori and Pongal for parcel. (I brought my own vessels and dint use the plastic ones being offered). At home also, they liked this food. For breakfast, they serve Idly, Vada, Pongal, Khichdi and Poori Masal and is open till 10 AM. For lunch they offer the traditional Sambar, Rasam, Kootu, Poriyal without rice. From a cost perspective, I felt it's slightly on the higher side - as all these items except Idly are priced at Rs 50. If you are in Nanganallur and if you want to taste a food similar to what we cook at home, then this could be one place you can.
