1. The fact that none of the good eating joints in Mohali and even the famous home delivery chains don't deliver in Kharar Road area
2. Even if some restaurants do, there is hardly anyone who serves breakfast before 10 am (or even 9 am).
And who directed/suggested me this place? Well none other than zomato!
Well that's true that Giri Eating house was the closest available breakfast home-delivery option from our location at that instance, but no matter where you are and how much you are starving, you can never trust a few places and Giri Eating house is one of them.
To be on the safe side, we ordered Paranthas of two kinds- Paneer and Aloo, considering it poses minimum risk in terms of health hazards and food preparation, however this place proves that even an aloo parantha can be a traitor.
If you have ever got your breakfast packed from any mess/guest house for a long travel, you can relate to the paranthas served here which are clammy and has a unique variation of being under-cooked at some points and overcooked to the extent of blackening to the other. The paranthas had meagre amount of potatoes in in, let alone rest of the flavouring ingredients and hence the final product that we get tastes bland and bitter and even scaly at times.
The paneer parantha was still a respite, since it had nicely flavoured masala paneer filled inside which was cancelling out the bitterness of greasy dark parantha.
Since a couple of months, small joints are surprising me by being better than high-end restaurants, so I was expecting this place to surprise me as well. Although it did surprise me, but the surprise was more like a shock- and I would rather have a conventional day rather than having such surprises!
