Gharana Resort: A Hidden Gem near Kolkata Located on the National Highway at Singur, Gharana Resort is a well-maintained getaway from Kolkata. The spacious rooms boast clean linens, large toilets, and ample space to explore. While the resort lacks a natural water body, its evening ambiance is truly stunning. The staff are friendly, courteous, and always ready to assist. However, the food service falls short of expectations, with overpriced options that don't match the resort's overall quality. Gharana Resort offers a day-out plan and is an excellent choice for celebrating birthdays, weddings, and corporate events. Rating: 3.5/5 stars Service: 3

We recently visited Gharana over the weekend, with a few other families. Room categories - cottages, super deluxe, mud house etc. We stayed in a mud house room. The exteriors and corridors have beautiful traditional decor. Although the property boasts impressive amenities, poor maintenance and disappointing room conditions marred our experience. PROS 1. Amenities: Lawn, children's play area, swimming pool, game zone, a small library etc. 2. Food: Taste is good. 3. Game Zone: Well-maintained with diverse activities. 4. Kids' Play Area: Swings, see-saw, slides, and more. CONS 1. Room Maintenance: Dim lighting, shabby, and ill-maintained interiors. 2. Washrooms: Stained and unclean. 3. Food Buffet: Limited vegetarian options, and items frequently run out. 4. Tariffs: Unusual person-wise charging; also clarify child policy before booking as kids above 12 were charged as adults. They need to improve: room maintenance and cleanliness, enhance buffet organization. Overall the experience was underwhelming for us. While Gharana has potential, our stay was average due to significant shortcomings. Until these issues are addressed, it's not a recommended hotel. Service: 3

Absolutely horrible place to travel to from Kolkata and Howrah , particularly if you are attending a wedding reception in evening and night. Bad roads , no signage of resort , service lane is a road to hell. Horrible experience ! Dont know why people book this place for weddings !! Service: 2
