Geeta Bhavan now is just a small reflection of its grand past. It's got an old world charm and many of the chemburkars visiting this place seems to b enjoying this. For many, it's nostalgia that brings them here. However, their service needs a complete overhaul. Everybody seems to b in their own sweet world. The guy manning the cash counter (owner/ manager) seems to b least brothered about customer service and the workings of the other staff. You need to carry a lof of patience (to wait) before you enter this place Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

I am giving 5 star for one key reason - the North Indian food is of amazing taste & quite authentic - for a BAU Mumbai Udupi restaurant which generally has a global Menu but in most Udupi hotels it i is barely resembling Punjabi food. Geeta Bhavan Punjabi food is consistently good - I had Baingan Bhartha and through the Open kitchen window, I could actually see the Brinjal being grilled !! ( again most hotels just ‘microwave’ it. ) South Indian fare is naturally V Good and outside of Matunga's Udupis, I would rate it among the top 5 - in terms of affordable value for money fare. A must visit if you are anywhere near Chembur.
