I had ordered machine (soft-serve) ice cream, but instead of that, the staff gave me scoop ice cream—possibly to increase revenue. When I politely told her that I wanted the machine ice cream I ordered, she misbehaved and sarcastically said, “Pehli baar ice cream khane aaye ho kya?” I was very disappointed by this behavior. I came to enjoy a treat, not to be insulted. I just want to share that if this is the kind of treatment customers receive, many like me may stop visiting. It felt like they were judging me by my clothes, not knowing anything about proper guest handling. Very disappointing experience. I’ll never recommend anyone to visit this place.

Listen, I'll be upfront: I haven't explored Gaylord Xpress's entire menu. But there's one reason, and one reason only, that keeps me coming back for over 20 years: their legendary softy. Yes, legendary. It's that good. Take this review with a grain of salt because I haven't sampled everything, but that softy? It's a Doon homecoming ritual for me. Even if I'm visiting in the dead of winter, a trip to Doon isn't complete without Gaylord Xpress's Softy. If you're looking for an unbeatable softy experience, Gaylord Xpress is a must-visit.
