Garde Manger Café is located at Vile Parle. It’s a charming raw-wood accented health bar, with offerings that will soon become a favourite for Non-vegetarian who don’t prefer vegetarian dishes. The decor exudes a non-pretentious yet chic appeal. Split into two sections, the outdoor area with its bicycle-with-a-flower-loaded-basket seems like the perfect spot to indulge in tea and gossip. The multi-cuisine menu has delicious Italian, Mediterranean and Health Food dishes that you can savour. Spread across soup, salads and mains, the menu also allows a DIY option to make your own pasta and salad from a set of pre-selected ingredients. In their menu beside every item there, they mention whether that food can be served in vegan (v) or Jain (J) or both. The food is full of flavour and non-greasy leaving ample room for desserts and accompaniments. Quinoa Banana smoothie with soy milk is one of the most recommended smoothie here. For dessert, the Chickpeas Walnut Banana pie is highly recommended, it is a moist, nutty and heavy with the fragrance of banana and cinnamon, this decadent fibre-packed dessert gives no inkling of its chickpea flour base. The staff at Garde Manger Cafe is friendly and courteous. Overall it’s a healthy option for people staying at Vile Parle and is highly recommended for health freaks.
