The restaurant is running only because there’s a Great Lake in front of it. People are strictly coming for the ambiance. At the reception you pay 500 rupees per person as a cover charge that gets adjusted in your final bill. In the capacity of an avid foodie and a cook, let me review the food now: 1. Malai Kofta (white): The gravy was unseasoned, stale and the kofta balls were rock- solid and dense. Older than a monolith. :p 2. Chicken tikka masala: It felt like they boiled and fried the chicken a week ago, and added it to a bland gravy. But it’s still doable. 3. Missi Roti: mediocre stuff, not very tasty either. 4. Garlic Naan: Decent. 5. Laccha parantha: It wasn’t a laccha parantha. I was served a raw roti. I have to commend the staff though, when it was brought to their notice, they immediately replaced it with a cooked one. 6. Fresh lemon soda: It wasn’t fresh, not very carbonated either. 7. Raita: the yogurt was Very sour. 8. Fish and chips: very bland and frozen. 9. Papad: the only seasoned and delicious item. Considering the price point, the LEAST you’d expect is a FRESHLY cooked meal. The food was absolutely disgusting, service was average. Honestly, they seemed to be understaffed. With that kinda location, it’s sad to see such a poorly run restaurant. No wonder it was empty during lunch hour. Hoards of people visiting the palace and none turning to the restaurant. The best palace food I have had so far is at Laxmi Niwas. Attaching a few pictures below. My two cents if the owners/ managers will read this: Guys you can mint money with this restaurant! Come on! Do something about it! If someone who has eaten proper North Indian food, if you’re from Delhi and know what good food tastes like :p you will hate the food hands down. Don’t rely on the 5/5 food reviews. Save your emotions (if you’re an excited eater :D), time and money. (: Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹2,000+ Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

We ordered soup, paneer lababdar and kulcha at the restaurant at Gajner Palace. The Paneer Lababdar was very tasty, and had the right balance of spices. The Paneer was soft and fresh. Kulcha was also hot and soft. The quantity of food was also reasonable, and we felt there was enough food for the money. The staff were very polite and helpful. He answered our questions and also gave us recipe suggestions. They were quick to serve us, and they took and served our orders on time. The restaurant and staff were also clean. The atmosphere here was very comfortable and inviting. The decoration was also very good. We felt that the prices charged for the food and service were reasonable.
