RAIPUR Diary! While in the capital city of Chattisgarh-Raipur , we started our food journey from the traditional stand out place GADH KALEWA @Civil Lines area of the city. Gadh Kalewa was started by a women group and now aided by State Government is a popular eatery and tourist place. It has a rural setting with nicely made benches and village set up and serves traditional Chattisgarhi and pure vegetarian food. We had the Chilla made from rice flor and was super crispy and went vert well with tomato and garlic chutney. We also had Bafouri which was kind of fried dhokla. The simple yet tasty food went well with fresh Mathaa. A really different food experience in the city and of the state!! Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

The service at Gadakleva is extremely poor. After placing our order, the staff made us sit for almost one hour, and then came back to ask us again what our order was. This is completely unprofessional. Their website talks a lot about “atmosphere”, but they clearly don’t understand that a good atmosphere is not created only by a clean or beautiful place — it is created by good thinking, good behavior, and good service. I was treated very badly, and the staff’s attitude was extremely disappointing. I had traveled 150 km and chose this place for lunch because I was very hungry. Unfortunately, I neither received food on time nor any decent service. The staff has very poor manners — they seat guests at tables and then spend their time talking among themselves. They don’t even know that clearing or confirming a guest’s order is their responsibility. I don’t know about others, but my experience was truly terrible. Zero rating. Very bad service. This place is awesome but limited food is next level like chila but farah is not warm and it not taste good so if you visit then try chila that is good. Overall ratings I will give is 8/10 and you can try other things also that is good if it is warm and never ask just observe and if which is warm because warm one is if you ask they always say yes it is warm but that is not always true. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
