Very disappointing and unacceptable. I recently had a frustrating experience at Free Spirit Cafe that I feel compelled to share. I was charged ₹179 for a Red Bull can with an MRP of ₹125—a clear violation of Indian consumer law. As per the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, no cafe or vendor is allowed to sell pre-packaged items above MRP. Yet, when I raised this with the staff, I got vague responses, no accountability, and no refund. This wasn’t just about the ₹54—it’s about ethics and legality. Sadly, such practices are becoming too common. Ambiance and branding should never justify illegal overcharging. I urge customers to always check MRP and speak up against such violations. To Free Spirit Cafe: This incident has damaged your credibility. Until you fix your billing practices and train your staff, I won’t be returning—and I can’t recommend this place to others. Hello, thanks for posting the review and although, we accept that we are not allowed to sell pre-packaged drinks to customers at rates higher than MRP, you paid the MRP rates after a discussion with the owner of the place. Kindly refrain from posting incorrect information on the internet just because you are a lawyer. MRP rates apply only when a customer is purchasing and taking the drink with him. You were served glasses with ice and lemon and were seated in our cafe for a considerable amount of time. Restaurants charge extra just for the real estate and other costs involved. We served RedBull like this just to maintain some transparency as a lot of places serve fake copies of RedBull that taste exactly the same. However, after this ordeal, we have made sure that RedBull is served only in a glass. We would love to serve you again but kindly note that you were charged Rs. 125 per can after the discussion and the facts given here in the review are incorrect.
