They should know before accepting order
The pictures attached to this place made me drool, the cookie cups the waffles and what not, looked amazing and tantalizing... After a lot of waiting (looking at pictures and salivating) we finally had a chance to visit the place..
Okay, coming to flipstones, the menu is simple, some waffles, pancakes, some milkshakes and the amazing looking cookie cups (the first image).. we ordered a chocolate overload waffle half and a caramel cookie cup. The waffle was tiny but was cooked well and had an okay service of chocolate sauce on it, not overloaded at all... The cookie cup, ah, the cookie cup was an utter dissapointment!! It's Parle G biscuits ground, moistened and moulded into a cup shape, completely tasteless ( worse than eating Parle G, because they're moistened and screwed up)!! It's not cookie dough, it's Parle G! The only thing tasteful about the cookie cup is the icecream, so choose a good flavour, I'd recommend chocolate! We ordered caramel and God vanilla ice cream, which wasn't tasty either, I do not know what low cost ice cream they're using, but I've had so much better vanilla icecreams... Anyhoo, the cookie cup is just photogenic and completely tasteless, I'd stay away from it..
The waffle was too small for a half portion, wish it were bigger and maybe they would have recieved a 3 star rating..
The worst part of the experience was not the cookie cup, it was d spoons... They give out those tiny spoons which are used for ice cream tasting, the tiny fragile plasticy things which are good for just a lick at Baskin Robins, not useful for eating anything. They break at the slightest force applied showering you food with tiny shards of plastic, which u end up ingesting and then die from the inside...???????? Okay that's a lil dramatic, but u get the point.
We were two people, who asked for 6 spoons as we broke 4 while trying to eat the waffle, struggled with the waffle because of the spoons... Struggled like big time struggled, imagine trying to empty a tractor of sand using a plastic teaspoons, that's probably a good comparison of what we were trying to do. When we complained about the spoons, the guy said, it's not meant for the waffles, u should eat that with your hand.. like what??!! Yeah, that's not going to happen, but then I've seen guys eat frosted cake with bare hands so I can imagine what he meant...
The spoons made the experience much worse that it was supposed to be, I would sincerely hope they reconsider the spoons for people who don't like using their hands...
About the general ambiance, The food truck is good, it's clean and nicely decorated, I especially liked the lighting and seating.. We visited the food truck part around midnight and only found tons of guys there, so female foodies take some guy friends along..
