If you happen to be around Goa State Museum, visit this restaurant. According to the guests' opinions, the service is terrific. The calm atmosphere will be a good addition to nice meals and good location of FOOD EXCHANGE.
The spread was utterly disappointing, I genuinely wish there were a negative rating scale for this meal. The starters offered just one non-vegetarian option: a deep-fried chicken crumble kebab. Once that ran out, they replaced it with basic chicken nuggets. If I wanted that, I could’ve just ordered a McCain packet from Blinkit or Instamart. The vegetarian spread wasn’t any better, featuring only plain salads and dry lentils. The main course continued the disappointment, with a mediocre semi-gravy chicken and a bland curry fish dish that lacked any real flavor. Overall, it was a thoroughly underwhelming experience at Novotel. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
Tried out this restaurant, attached to Novotel hotel, in Patto Panjim. They had the "Bengali thali", on occasion of Dussehra festival. Well, the food overall was good, deservedly 4 stars. However, their Service & Customer interactions was well below par. As a Hotelier, I highlight various negative & insincere aspects that immediately stood out: 1.Falsely trying to entice Customers by declaring a "special rate" for those who booked directly; but in reality it was just the regular rate (Rs 950+tax) for the NV thali. 2. Instead of having separate Veg & Non Veg menus (listing of the thali items); a single consolidated menu (mix of V & NV) was presented to us, which was confusing to the Diner. 3. A couple of Staff could not even explain the menu (Bengali names) to us! 4. Inspite of PRAWNS being mentioned on the menu (a NV item), it was not served to us, inspite of repeated reminders to the Servers!. Amazing reasons given by the Staff to us: "Sir, that's an old menu". Seriously?! Towards end of our meal, when the prawns we finally (reluctantly) served, reason for not serving earlier: "Sir, some guests don't like prawns"!! Seriously?! They feel the Customers are indeed gullible?! Ambiance: The music was played full blast, so we requested the Restaurant Manager that volume needed to be reduced. The instructions we followed for barely a short period, thereafter it was blasted still higher than before; reminded me of a roadside Dabba! Diners could not have a decent table conversation, due to the din. The numerous Executive Staff casually gathered at the restaurant exit, seemed oblivious to the blasting music volume, which was heard right across their Lobby as well! Summary: While the food was good; The Service & Ambiance was indeed below par!! The overall experience was marred by their Staff (Servers, Hostess & Executives), who are in urgent need of Training in both Customer interaction & etiquette.
