A Painful Experience at a Place I Once Loved It truly breaks my heart to write this. I’ve always had a special place in my heart for this restaurant. It’s where I’ve made good memories before, and that’s exactly why I chose to bring my in-laws here—to give them a nice experience, something a little special. They’re the kind of people who don’t usually like to go out or eat in restaurants, but I convinced them, hoping it would be worth it. Instead, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing and embarrassing experiences I’ve ever had, especially in front of them. We started with GudBud, which we’ve always loved here. Then we ordered a few other dishes, including Mushroom Pepper Dry. But we waited. And waited. Other tables that came after us were being served, finished their meals, and left—while we still hadn’t received everything we ordered. When the Mushroom Pepper Dry finally arrived, it was cold. Not just lukewarm—completely cold and tasteless. My in-laws tried to eat a couple of pieces, but I could see they were uncomfortable. I tasted it too, and it was honestly not fit to be served. Still, we stayed calm. We politely called the staff. It took a while for someone to come, and when she finally did, she acknowledged that the dish was cold and took it back. We assumed she would bring a fresh one. We were patient. My in-laws were still hopeful. But then she came back—not with food, but with the bill. She told us that since we had eaten “2 or 3 pieces,” they couldn’t replace it. Not only were we not given a new dish—we were asked to pay full price for something we barely touched. We weren’t even given the plate back. It was humiliating. My in-laws, who I had convinced to come out and enjoy something different, were now sitting quietly, embarrassed and disheartened. I can’t express how bad I felt watching them in that moment. And when we asked to speak to the manager, hoping someone would at least understand and offer some courtesy or apology—there was nothing. No emotion. No empathy. Just a blank face. I paid the bill and walked out, but my heart sank. Not because of the money, not because of the cold food—but because of the way we were made to feel. I honestly don’t think my in-laws will ever want to go out to eat again. That’s what hurts the most. This used to be one of my favorite places. I’ve always recommended it to others, and I was genuinely excited to share it with people I care about. But after today, I don’t think I’ll ever come back. Not because of one bad dish—but because of how we were treated when something went wrong. I hope someone from the management reads this and truly understands that dining out is not just about food—it’s about experience, respect, and the little moments we try to create with our loved ones. Today, that moment was ruined. And I’ll truly miss coming here for GudBud. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
