I once ordered chicken chow (takeaway)for my son and checking the menu, there's less options to choose except chow and fried rice besides there's two types of biryani which I would rate . The shop is not properly clean and there's a certain smell that somehow you cannot eat there. The owner should atleast make the shop clean and tidy as the shop is very nice. Many are not fortunate like this shop, compares to location and to the shop building. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1

Muradabadi Biryani Chicken -Rs.150 Wahlang Biryani (Zaika Biryani) a.k.a Eat & Go, Garikhana, Shillong Biryani $ 29.06.24 Today finally after 17days my aunt was released from hospital. But it was not until 3:30pm that we got her back to her house. Perfect time to have lunch. Now my car was parked in Garikhana so I conveniently walked up to Wahlang Biryani. I have seen this place for a few years now & I guess the name on the signboard has also changed often. I greeted the staff & asked him what was on the menu. Apparently there was only Muradabadi Biryani & Hyderabadi Biryani, both chicken. I asked him to open the degchi to have a look. And from what I saw, the only difference between the two was that the Hyderabadi one had a bit more spices & coloring. So I opted for the Muradabadi Biryani. Now this is the 2nd Muradabadi Biryani I'm trying in Shillong, the other is from Delhi Delight. Now when the Mughal empire crumbled, one of its principalities, Rampur gained autonomy, just like Hyderabad, Lucknow, Bhopal etc. Muradabad was a town under Rampur. It's biryani is the less sophisticated cousin of the Lucknow one. Even the streets of Delhi are now filled with Muradabadi Biryani stalls all over. Anyway I asked for a plate. The order came almost immediately. It was placed on an aluminium foil on top of a plate. The biryani with the 3 white pieces of chicken looked like a simple dish. It came with 2 types of raitas & onions. The long grained basmati rice was cooked to perfection. I took a spoonful & it was the least spiciest biryani I've ever tasted. Having said that it still had some quite subtle & intricate flavors to it. The meat was also very tender & still retained enough moisture. This is one biryani that is not spicy that I think even my mother can eat. Instagram ID - kari.on.eats Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹1–200 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
