We stopped here for lunch on our way to Chennai from Vagamon, and I’m so glad we did! The food was absolutely fantastic—truly mouthwatering. A special shoutout to the BDF, beef roast, and fish curry; they were simply outstanding! The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance, complemented by a beautiful vineyard view, made our dining experience even more enjoyable. A perfect place for both Kerala and Tamil Nadu style food in the border. Fish Curry and all Beef dishes are must try, apologies for vegetarians. Food and Hospitality is at its peak! We visited the Downtown Diner Resort in Cumbum en route to Kerala. We chose the restaurant after seeing the reviews, but unfortunately the review might be applicable for non vegetarian lovers and not for vegetarian preferring people. It was a complex with common road side parking. Wash room was on back side with a spectacular view of the mountains and grapes garden. The restaurant was moderately clean. There were 10 tables which could accommodate 40 persons at a time. We ordered Vegetarian meals (Kerala Matta Rice) and Vegetable Biriyani but both were very average. Even with heavy hunger, we couldn't enjoy the food. Heard that the fish fry in this restaurant will be good and few other customers were enjoying them. Might be we should try with non vegetarian menu in this restaurant some other time.
