I've been to Down the Road a couple of times in the evenings , to meet friends and catch a quick beer . However this was the first time I went with a friend for lunch . The ambience was warm and Christmas decorations were up , we sat outside in the balcony with a great view of the road and canal . Music volume was just right and the service thanks to Xaviers on point . We ordered the pepper pork roast ,which was fabulous so ordered it again .. the masala chonak was cooked to perfection and the the lemon ,coriander garlic butter prawns were fabulous with a side of rice and mash . The cocktails were potenet , long island ice tea , negroni and a Apple spritzer I think . It's a really cool place , chilled out with great service and food . So now I can definitely say whether u go to Down the Road for lunch , beer and bites or in the evening for drinks dinner and great music , you will have a great time , with good food and a awesome vibe .
