Well, I had written off Domino's Pizza as not worth it sometime back. Despite being one of the largest pizzeria chains in the country their quality was on a steady decline. Even with the decline in quality Domino's Pizza has quite steadily been increasing their prices over the last few years. Once upon a time it was a big favourite of mine. I recently saw their advertisement for exotic Italian pizzas and I thought this must just be another marketing stunt by the chain. I kept coming across these advertisements starring Vikas Khanna, and Chef Naren. Finally getting tempted by the promise of exotic ingredients, and hand made thin wheat crust, I gave in to my temptation.
I ordered only one exotic Italian pizza because of the hefty price tag attached to it, and I ordered a regular double cheese Margarita with extra cheese. The bill came to a whopping 685 rupees for one medium pizza and a regular pizza.
Domino's Pizza doesn't offer much in terms of cost to quality/quantity ratio.
Now onto the pizza.
Roman Veg Supreme.
This pizza was exquisite! It had an awesome base thin crust, wheat and hand made as promised. Although it was a good base if I had to be picky I would complain that it was not crispy. The flavour was good had an awesome sauce and just the right amount of topping and cheese to compliment each other. This one had baby corns, black olives, yellow capsicum and red jalapeño. It was the right combination of spicy, tangy and sweet from the baby corns.
the double cheese Margarita was a huge disappointment to me after that awesome pizza. It was bland! The sauce was tasteless, and the cheese was rubbery. I can confirm that it is not due to the pizza getting cold because it was still quite hot when we bit it.
the verdict: definitely worth trying their exotic Italian pizzas once in my opinion. They are slightly overpriced and delivery isn't the greatest that can be experienced.
