For People in sulur...Dolphin restaurant is a good option i would say ( as there are only limited number of restaurants in and around sulur). I always get a takeaway from them . I haven't yet dined in there. The place is good (decent). I do not have much idea about the service part. I usually get a takeaway of chicken fried rice ( which is absolutely delicious) and all their gravies are quite good. All over it's a good spot. They are available in swiggy and zomato. Dolphin Family Restaurant is yet another addition to the various food destinations in and around Sulur in Coimbatore. Located on the main road, walking distance from the new Sulur Bus Depot this restaurant is quite spacious. The theme of the restaurant is Hut type sitting where customers can occupy a hut and the staff will attend to them. There's washbasin outside the huts to wash your hands. There's parking area on the premises. The trees planted on the property offer a little relief during summer as you stand under them. Coming to the seating arrangement, nowadays the Coimbatore temperature is touching a whopping 38 degrees [May 2024]. In such a hot season it's impossible to sit in those huts to have lunch - especially spicy, hot dishes. There's an AC room too. We took the AC room to avoid the heat. Unfortunately, the AC could not help. The temperature was fixed at 20 degrees and you could not reduce it. The restaurant charges 10% additional charge on the total bill for AC. The staff didn't charge us for AC because they also realised that the AC was not helping us. That was a good gesture from the staff. There's an outdoor seating arrangement too with a big screen for projecting entertainment programs. To experience that you will have to visit that place after sunset. The staff is well behaved but need some professional training to add more value. The food was quite good. The restaurant serves both, veg and non-veg food. I had veg food. The taste was quite good. I specially liked the bun parotha and veg soup with lots of vegetables in it. The size of garlic naan was nice and big. The group members who had non-veg were not very happy with some of the dishes. Well, taste is very subjective so it's a matter of choice. If you order Chinese dishes it will have the preparation style of local chefs. Even though it's titled Chinese food it is not entirely Chinese. It becomes a fusion of flavors and taste. Don't forget to have matka kulfi as dessert. It is worth a try and will cool your tummy. The price of the dishes is also not very expensive. It's at par with other restaurants. Overall, it was a decent experience for us. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹400–600 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Bun Paratha Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section Vegetarian options: Not a great variety of vegetarian dishes. If you are looking for pure vegetarian food then give this restaurant a skip. But if you are a mixed group who enjoys non-veg and veg then you can check out this restaurant.
