I’d always heard that pottery was therapeutic, but I never truly understood its magic until I experienced it firsthand at the Dharamkot Studio. What began as an opportunity to touch and knead clay turned into a profound soul connection. The retreat was truly special.Every lesson in handling the clay felt like a metaphor for navigating life itself. Applying just the right amount of pressure while kneading—too much, and the clay would crack; too little, and it wouldn’t take shape. Learning to embrace fragility, practicing perseverance, and realizing that not everything can be undone, yet some imperfections lead to unexpected beauty. The experience wasn’t just about pottery—it was about being nurtured, encouraged, and deeply understood by a team that made every moment special. From the serene village walks with the majestic Dhauladar mountain range in the background to the breathtaking sunsets that felt like pure magic, every aspect of the retreat was unforgettable. The parikrama walk at the world-famous Dalai Lama temple added a spiritual depth, while the soul-soothing food, the special teas, and the ever-welcoming smiles made it all the more heartwarming... a memory I will treasure forever....
I attended their 5day pottery retreat recently and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of my time spent here. The location is beautiful..the rooms very spacious with incredible views..its relaxing the moment you step into their property. The instructors as well as the staff is like one big community who are always ready to help you with your queries. The schedule is busy but not very packed.... with morning walks, yoga, meditation session also part of everyday activities. It was my first time trying pottery and really have fallen in love with this art..thanks to Dharamkot Studio! :)
It was one of the best weeks of my life. We really enjoyed working with clay. The instructors were good and patient. The location in the woods magical. I would recommend the worship to everyone.
