Dehaati Restaurant – A must-visit for authentic Kolhapuri cuisine! Located near Tararani Chowk in Kolhapur, this place lives up to its reputation as one of the top spots for traditional Maharashtrian non-veg thalis. We tried the Mutton Masala Thali and it was outstanding – perfectly spiced (not overwhelmingly hot), tender mutton pieces, unlimited Tambda and Pandhra Rassa that were finger-licking good, soft jowar bhakri, and generous sides like kheema and pulao. The flavors truly capture the essence of Kolhapuri cooking! The ambiance is clean, welcoming, and family-friendly with a nice rustic touch. Service is efficient and the staff is friendly. Yes, it can get crowded (expect some waiting time), and prices are on the higher side for a thali, but the quality and taste more than make up for it. If you’re in Kolhapur and love non-veg, especially mutton or chicken thalis, don’t miss Dehaati – it’s a highlight of any food trip here!
