Chanced upon Das Homely Mess as I was walking down Kushalnagar main street. Very easy to miss unless you are looking for it (Even the owner was surprised I came as a walk-in. They are usually recommended by word-of-mouth by other patrons.)Must try their lunch options with boiled rice.Popular for their fish-curry meals, however, for vegetarians they have other options. I had the vegetarian option.Traditional Kerala style mess which is a hit with the locals, brought back memories of my college days at MSRIT which had a similar mess in the neighboring lanes.They also have buttermilk and some sweet options.Very affordable and wholesome. Owner--who also serves when the place gets packed to give an extra hand--operates it with a couple of industrious women.Unfortunately only open for lunch.Not to miss if you are in Kushalnagar.For once, what the signboard says is exactly what you get inside.
