Dalma : was unfortunately a significant letdown, especially considering the fond memories I had of the place from years past. It saddens me to say that what was once considered a jewel among Bhubaneswar's dining establishments now feels decidedly overhyped and overpriced. This establishment has undoubtedly lost a considerable amount of its original charm. Stepping back into the restaurant after a long hiatus, the atmosphere felt strangely muted and the overall experience didn't justify the premium price point. While the service was prompt, it lacked the warmth and attention to detail that one expects from a supposedly premier location. The primary reason for my visit, and arguably the main claim to fame the place still holds, is its reputation for traditional Odia cuisine. Indeed, the Dalma remains the singular shining star—it was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and a true taste of home, living up to its name as one of the best in the city. However, the rest of the meal was deeply disappointing. Specifically, the mutton dish was found to be substandard this time around. It was tough, lacked depth of flavor, and simply didn't meet the expected quality. For a hotel restaurant commanding these prices, inconsistency in main courses is unacceptable. It is clear that the hotel is coasting on its past reputation. My sincere hope is that the management takes this feedback to heart and makes a serious effort to emphasize taste, quality, and overall presentation. This establishment has the potential to be a beacon of Odia hospitality once again, but significant work is needed to regain its lost charm and truly deliver a value-for-money experience that matches its historic name. Until then, it's hard to recommend for anything other than the Dalma.
