I recently tried the Benne Pudi Dosa, and overall, the experience was quite average. The dosa was on the thicker side, making it feel heavier than usual. While the taste was decent, it didn’t leave a strong impression. The chutney and sambar served alongside were quite basic — they lacked the depth and richness that could have enhanced the overall meal. Both accompaniments felt simple and somewhat under-seasoned, offering a rather plain experience. In addition, I tried the Ghee Pudi Thatte, and it was noticeably better. Although it was slightly less salted, the flavors were still enjoyable. The softness of the Thatte, combined with the richness of the ghee and the mild spice from the pudi, created a nice balance. The gentle aroma of ghee and the subtle heat of the pudi worked well together, making it a satisfying choice despite the mild under-salting. Overall, while the Benne Pudi Dosa and the sides didn’t quite meet expectations, the Ghee Pudi Thatte stood out as a better option. A little more attention to seasoning, especially in the chutney and sambar, would greatly improve the dining experience. The dosas are worth try. Very good in taste. I would specially recommend the chutneys served with the dosas. Located in the DC, this place is good for a South Indian craving and has hospitable staff. Self service counter available only. I had paneer benne dosa and enjoyed my time while having it.
