DJ'S Nonveg - Satara style Simple yet mind-blowing homely Food. This place is a apt adda for non-vegetarians.I first landed to this restaurant wen it had newly opened in Wakad at a 40 metre walking distance from my workplace. I was thrilled to know that I will now be able to enjoy nonveg thali every afternoon. The first visit back in 2019 was extremely warm, getting to know the software engineer turned chef Dhairyashil Jadhav aka DJ. A man in his 40's with a passion to cook great food and serve with the same amount of energy. The aroma coming from the kitchen assured me that the taste was gonna be amazing. And this place won my heart. The place that time was on the Dutta mandir road and had walls painted with beautiful farms and Bullock carts. Super clean kitchen with a maharashtrian bai to make bhakari's. Hot bhakari bieng prepared freshly with hot chicken and mutton thali. I still remember the first time I tried that outstanding Amrakhand.We as-in DJ, his wife and my colleagues discussed about how they ventured into this business and how their every masala is home made following his mother's recipies.After this DJ's had become my fav and I always found occasions to gather friends and collueges to have lunch there.Cut 2 -Year 2020- Corona came in and by the end of those days the owners told me abt their relocation. Months passed by for life to get to normal and finally around the year end I landed at DJ's again to have the awesomeness I was missing. Me with one colluege relished the meal with 2 chicken thalis and a lot of aalni rassa. These guys worked hard the entire corona period to survive harsh blows. They definitely had the backup of their amazing food and the well wishes of their patrons too.Cut 3- Year 2022 June - My office was relocated to Baner. Recently a few weeks back I was at a reunion party where this old colluege of mine reminded me of DJ's and we had a detail discussion abt the food. I coudnt stop myself and without wasting much time I immediately next day planned a dinner at DJ's. An extremely nostalgic evening it was! Mrs Jadhav was at the cash counter as usual and the chef Mr Jadhav in the Kitchen. I was happy to meet the good ol couple and have a hearty conversation of how times changed and our old talks pre -corona. I ordered 2 spl thali's one chicken and one mutton and was amazed to notice the similar taste infact even better than I had before. Mutton thali was loaded with mutton kheema, aalni rassa taht is to die for and crazy pandhara tamada raasa. I ate to my heart's delight. The same ol rustic simple flavours with perfectly cooked meat and outstanding gravy's Hot red mutton gravy in hand crumbled bajri bhakri = full satisfaction. Also enjoyed my fav Indrayani bhaat with aalni mutton. Wat an Overwhelming experience! Leaving some pics here for you to see for yourself. This is my long pending review for DJ's which I shdve written long back. I still remember this time while leaving I wished him luck saying by next time he'd be a big man sitting on the cash counter and he said " No Never, My place is in the kitchen and DJ's will flourish till I am in the kitchen" Sometimes It's not just abt the food it's also abt the PEOple......
